It marks the birth of Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.

Christians view her birth as the joyful dawn of human salvation.

Her birth is not recorded in the canonical Gospels.

Her parents Traditionally named as Saints Anne and Joachim.

Alongside Jesus and John the Baptist, Mary is one of the only figures

whose earthly birth is celebrated on the traditional liturgical calendar.

 The religious leaders opposed Jesus mainly because He challenged their authority,

Jesus forgave sins and called God His Father, which the religious leaders considered blasphemy.

Large crowds followed Jesus. Leaders worried that Jesus would start a political movement

and the Roman Empire would destroy the nation in response.

When people begged Jesus not to leave after he healed the sick,

Many people focused on the immediate.

Jesus came to preach the message of the kingdom of God and

provide spiritual salvation, not just perform endless physical wonders.

In Jesus’ day, the cross was not just a burden or an inconvenience;

it was a symbol of death, a tool of execution used by the Romans.

Deny yourself and take up your cross means to completely surrender

your own selfish desires, ego, and personal will to live in total obedience to God.
